Fire and Fury トランプ政権の内幕を暴露した本のタイトル名。現在、全米でベストセラーになっているらしい。まだ購入はしていないが、気になって、関連事項をネットで調べていくうちに偶然、本から引用したかなり長い文章に突き当たった。イラスト入りのかなり本格的なもので、多少興奮してしまった。さすがに言論の自由に最高の価値をおく国だと、感心する。同時に、ネット世界の便利さと恐ろしさも痛感している。読んでみると、なかなか興味深いことが書かれているが、その中でも取り分け、トランプ本人は、開票当日まで、当選するとは思っていなかった、その意思もなかったと記述している箇所には、正直驚かされた。実験国家の衣を装ってスタートした米国という国家の危うさを改めて感じさせる文章である。

短い抜粋だが、就任以来約1年に渡るトランプ政権の米国政治史上見たこともないような混乱ぶりの背景が理解できるような気がする。そして、トランプ政権の混乱は、今なお続いている。我々日本人は、これから先どこに向かうか分からない混迷極める米国に従属したまま生きて行かなければならない。我々は地獄のタイトロープを歩かされるのだ。
